The EFC summer online has begun!

Summer vacation at the EFC Foundation is always something we’re waiting for throughout the year. It’s an especially great time for the Horizons Scholarship Program scholars. Each year, we gather on a camp by the seaside or lake to take part in sports, workshops and simply to be together. This year, due to the pandemic, our scholars and the EFC team are meeting online.

Our summer program offers three interesting activities:

  • "Happy Days with the EFC”: everyday, at a specific time, we will publish one photograph on our Instagram profiles. It is supposed to show something that made us happy on that particular day. Something that made us smile, even for a second. The game is meant to help us get to know each other better and commemorate those everyday moments that lift our spirits. It’s pure science - little things increase our level of satisfaction in life!
  • “EFCity” - an interregional economy game: this will be a true adventure for all game fans, but not only. EFCity is a project developed by the EFC scholars. It centers around developing imagined cities. Participants will have a chance to modernize XVth century farms, negotiate with local authorities-developers and make sure it’s their city that shines the brightest.
  • Getting to know the American culture and language better. Together with volunteers from the Kościuszko Foundation’s Teaching English in Poland program, we will take part in virtual walks around New York City, we will cook and sing together. We will also share expert webinars for teachers and educators, recorded videos for students from all across Poland and we will invite you to join us during live meetings with American teachers.

Scholars will be informed about the details of these events by their coordinators, and the most interesting activities will be posted on our social media.

Join us and let’s spend this summer together! We are so sad that we cannot meet in person this year. Still, we will do our best to make our summer vacation online as creative and pleasant as possible.
